Speech Language Pathology
Speech and language therapy is provided by Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) who are allied health professionals. SLPs provide life-changing treatment plans to support children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with swallowing, eating and drinking.
Many toddlers, young kids and children struggle with speech impediments or other communication-based challenges or conditions. If your child is having difficulty communicating with you or if you feel that their performance in school is compromised by their inability to effectively communicate with their teachers and peers, you should consider booking an appointment with an SLP to assess, diagnose and provide an individually customized treatment plan. An SLP can be a valuable health professional who can help your child overcome speech difficulties that they might have or develop in the future. Speech therapy can help your child’s confidence at an early age, prevent stuttering, articulate better, teach better grammar and can vastly improve a child who has little to no ability to speak at all.
Adults can also benefit from the professional services of a Speech Language Pathologist when they have suffered from the effects of stroke, brain tumor, traumatic/ acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy and other degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). An example of the symptoms that Speech Language Pathologists are familiar with treating include: Aphasia, Apraxia, Dysarthria, Dysphagia, Articulation disorders, voice disorders and fluency disorders.

Osteopathy is a type of holistic manual therapy which aims in restoring health of the whole body. It emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function, and believes in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. This concept of interrelatedness plays an important role in the holistic perspective to the therapy.
This approach treats pain and dysfunction by correcting structural misalignment, mobility and restoring optimal body function by working with multiple systems of the body. Osteopathic manual practitioners achieve success by the use of highly papaltory skills to feel and identify restrictive patterns and decreased mobility due musculoskeletal tensions and inflammation, visceral restrictions, or obstructions between the brain and spine.
